Quest items that are in the bank cannot be used to complete quests.

Yes, yes, I know...

There I go again, making up lies about getting back into regular posting. Ok, so here's a quick update: I got the WotLK Collector's Edition; Unbarc is currently 75 (and barely has upgraded any gear); I'm really digging the Death Knight class; my wife's been working tons of overtime (60+ hours a week), so I've been spending less time on the computer and more time with her.

I do have some new ideas for the site, though. Two of the major things are to update the Wowhead tooltip script, and update my character page. Right now, it's pretty out of date. In the past, I had been updating the info by using an AddOn, then uploading the saved LUA file with statistics, parsing it, and updating the database. This got old quick, so I'm going to write some scripts that will pull the data direcly off of the WoWArmory directly. That way, it's always up to date and I don't have to remember to do anything. I have a similar system in place for my guild page, but the list of members is getting so big I might just link to the armory page itself.

Updates: WoW and This Site

Been a little while since my last post, so I figured now would be a good time as any to do so. First off, there were a couple of new patches released, 2.0.7 and 2.0.8. Now before the Burning Crusade came out, the most number of patches between major updates (1.#.0) was 5. This time around, there has been 7 updates, and no major patch. They even skipped 2.0.2 for some reason.

I'll be going back through the current changelogs and adding an Undocumented Changes section, via WoWWiki.com. These changes are observed by the players, are not part of the official Blizzard release notes, and may not be agreed upon by everybody, but I like the addition of it.

On the side of my Site Upgrades, there's been some you may have noticed. Firstly, I finally updated the in-game rendition of me in the header and on the profile page.

Second, I re-added an Image Gallery back. I used to have the popular Gallery integrated in the site, but I ended up not liking how the end-result looked. So this past week I decided to just code my own. It's very basic, and has some nice effects, but isn't overloaded with stuff I don't really need.

Lastly, I started playing around with WoW Model Viewer and Lightwave again, only this time I am able to get the texture along with the model. If you have a look in my renders gallery, you'll see some quick renders of stuff.

WoW Model View: Unbarc in True 3D

With the last couple versions of WoW Model View, there's been an option to export models to a few different formats (.obj, .lwo, .3ds, and .ms3d). I figured I'd have a play with this, and make a render of the Unbarc character I made. This is still a little bit buggy, and the textures didn't work properly with the export, so I had to add in my own, but here's a little render of Unbarc in Lightwave.

I've also made the Gallery live, so check it every so often for new pictures. I might be adding a picture block to the main page, that shows a picture of the day, most recent pic, etc.

Note: The gallery has been removed, and the picture is temporarily in limbo.
